Stephanie Warnock, LCSW

Educational Resume

Stephanie Warnock was born in Storm Lake, Iowa and spent her childhood enjoying the simplicity of small town living in Storm Lake and Humboldt, Iowa. She received her Bachelors in Social Work from Iowa State University and her Masters in Social Work from the University of Iowa

Work Experience

After graduation, Stephanie moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, where she worked as a therapist for the Eating Disorders Program at Riverside Medical Center for two years.  Stephanie traveled the AL-CAN with two girl friends in 1991, landing in Anchorage and calling it home. She spent the next decade providing crisis intervention, brief therapy and longer-term group and individual therapy for Anchorage Community Mental Health Services, then known as Southcentral Counseling Center. In 2001, Stephanie took a position with Providence Behavioral Medical Group and continued providing outpatient therapy services to individuals, couples and groups within that setting. She joined the Alliance Behavioral Medicine team in June, 2014.

Stephanie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). Her practice consists of a combination of group and individual therapy for adults of all ages. The groups she currently offers include a solution-focused chronic pain and illness group, a cognitive therapy group to assist people master problem feelings and behaviors through recognizing and challenging unhelpful thinking patterns and a shame resilience group based on curriculum from Brene Brown. Opportunities for future groups will be expanded based on need.
